The year 2002 was Coach Jason Crutchfield's first year at
Fort Defiance High School and first year as a tennis coach.
He previously taught and coached basketball, football, and
softball in North Carolina for five years. A native of
Silver Spring, Maryland, Coach Crutchfield attended West
Virginia State College and Marshall University. At FDHS,
Coach Crutchfield is in charge of the EFE program. His
background is as a social studies teacher.
Coach Crutchfield is married and has two young boys, Noah
and Osiris. He lives in Staunton.
He has picked up the game of tennis quickly and made sure
this year's Indian squad stayed in top shape. He put the
boys on a weight lifting and running program. He had high
expectations for the team this year, and they didn't let him
down.
